IT'S YELLOW SPARKLY PICTURE FRAME TIME!

So this is what I spent most of my Wednesday afternoon on. I'll explain how I did it. I forgot to bring my camera outside to show it step by step:( BUT here we go! I started out with a wooden unfinished picture frame from a local craft shop. I spray painted it yellow. In all I used like five coats of paint. It took FOREVER to dry. It was matte paint also. I took clear tape and attempted to make even stripes down the frame. Then I got out my homemade Mod Podge. http://doityourselfdivas.blogspot.com/2011/09/diy-mod-podge.html here's a site to tell you how to make your own, it works great! I put my Mod Podge all over the uncovered areas then took silver glitter and mixed it with the glue. Once I was satisfied with the glitter I let it dry in the sun. After drying time was over, which was about two hours, I spray glossy finish all over. After the finish dried I took the tape off. What I got was a matte and gloss stripe affect, which I thought was really neat!
Here you can see a better up close look at it.

So for my very first post i decided to just spice up an old dollar tree picture frame. So I forgot to take before and after pictures but before this was just a plain black picture frame. I took scotch tape (i ran out of painters  tape) and I made like candy cane like pattern. I don't really know how to explain but you can see what I'm talking about by the picture. I was going to spray paint it yellow but i ran out so instead I decided to go with a silver color I found. I ended up loving it! I only had to use one coat. After it dried i pealed the tape away. Some paint had gotten under the tape but it gave it a distressed look that I love! I ended up framing my crayon art in my new chic frame. I'll do a tutorial on it later. Who would have thought I bought this frame for only a dollar?
